A wedding ceremony in the Yorkshire countryside
Ceremonies of Love®

Your wedding ceremony
is the threshold.
Together before,
forever after.

Not every couple needs a Ceremonies of Love® wedding. The ones who do know immediately.

It is not the flowers. Not the dress, the venue, or the carefully chosen playlist. It is the words spoken aloud in front of every person you love, and the promises that will define your life together.

You are looking for a ceremony that is unmistakably, intellectually, emotionally yours. One built on real scholarship, real listening, and real craft. One that the people in that room will still be trying to describe accurately, years later. One that fits your world, however extraordinary, unconventional, or gloriously specific that world happens to be.

Charlotte has been a radio presenter and a tour manager in the music industry; she has been in rooms where extraordinary things happen and ordinary things get mistaken for extraordinary ones. She knows the difference. That is just some of what she brings to your ceremony.

Pathosformel Aby Warburg

"I am not interested in the ceremony that is simply nice.
I am interested in the one that changes the room."

Celebrant Charlotte

There is no template; there is no standard script pulled from a folder. There is no version of your ceremony that has been given to anyone else.

What there is: a series of conversations in which Charlotte listens, properly, carefully, and with the full weight of her attention, to the story of the two of you. How you met. What you have built together. What you believe about love. What you need the people in that room to understand about your relationship before you make your vows.

From those conversations, she builds your ceremony from the ground up. Every word written specifically for you. Every ritual element chosen for its meaning to your particular story. Every structural decision made in service of the emotional arc you deserve.

The result is a ceremony that you will never forget.

Every Ceremonies of Love® wedding is underpinned by independent scholarship: a degree in English Literature, a passion for ancient symbolism and ritual. The art historian Aby Warburg spent his life mapping the way certain gestures, images, and ritual forms recur across centuries of human culture: the same postures of joy and transformation appearing in ancient friezes and Renaissance paintings alike. He called them Pathosformeln: formulas of passion. The visual grammar of human experience at its most charged moments.

A wedding is one of those moments. The ritual elements within your ceremony are not chosen for aesthetic reasons alone. Arnold van Gennep mapped the architecture of every human threshold over a century ago. Viktor Frankl showed us that meaning is not found but made. Shakespeare understood that promises spoken aloud in front of witnesses carry a weight that private promises cannot.

Your Ceremony Almanac carries all of this with it: the symbolism, the traditions, the scholarship. Not because you need to know it to feel it. Because the work was done, and it shows.

I would not wish
any companion in the world
but you.
