Terms of service
Terms of Service
Last updated May 2026These Terms of Service govern your use of the Ceremonies of Love website and your purchase of any products or services from us. Please read them carefully. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use our services. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
About Us
Ceremonies of Love is operated by Ceremonies of Love Limited, registered in England and Wales. Our registered address is 12 Station Parade, Harrogate, HG1 1UE. You can contact us at hello@ceremoniesoflove.co.uk.
Our store is hosted by Shopify Inc. By using our services you acknowledge that Shopify is not a party to any transaction between you and Ceremonies of Love and bears no responsibility for any aspect of your purchase.
Eligibility & Account
By using our services you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction if higher, and that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity carried out under your account. You must not transfer or assign your account to any other person. You agree that all information you provide to us is accurate, current, and complete.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account at any time and without notice if we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached, or if required to do so by law.
Products & Descriptions
We make every effort to ensure product descriptions, images, and specifications are accurate. However, colours and appearance may vary depending on your device, screen settings, and configuration. We do not warrant that product appearance will match exactly what is displayed on screen.
Certain products, including brass objects, handmade items, and those with an intentional antique finish, will vary between individual units in tone, texture, surface patina, and marking. Such variation is inherent to the nature of the product, is part of its character, and does not constitute a defect, fault, or grounds for return.
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue any product at any time without notice, and to limit quantities sold to any individual, household, or geographic region.
Orders & Contract Formation
When you place an order, you are making an offer to purchase. A binding contract between us is not formed until we confirm acceptance of your order and dispatch the goods. We reserve the right to decline or cancel any order at any time prior to dispatch, for any reason, including but not limited to pricing errors, stock unavailability, or suspected fraud. Where an order is declined or cancelled, we will notify you promptly and issue a full refund of any payment taken.
Please review your order carefully before submission. Once accepted, we may be unable to accommodate changes or cancellation requests. Cancellation of preorders is subject to the terms set out in our Refund Policy.
Your purchases are for personal or household use only. You may not purchase products for the purpose of commercial resale or export without our prior written consent.
Prices & Payment
All prices are displayed in pounds sterling (GBP) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable. Prices are subject to change without notice, but the price charged will be that displayed at the time your order is placed, as confirmed in your order confirmation email.
In the event of a pricing error on our website, we are not obliged to honour that price and reserve the right to cancel the order and issue a full refund.
You warrant that any payment details you provide are accurate, that you are authorised to use the payment method provided, and that sufficient funds or credit are available. We reserve the right to cancel orders where payment cannot be verified or authorised.
Shipping & Delivery
All delivery times provided are estimates only and are not guaranteed. We are not liable for delays caused by shipping carriers, customs processing, adverse weather, or any event outside our reasonable control.
Risk in the goods passes to you upon delivery. Title in the goods passes to you upon receipt of full payment. If you refuse delivery without reasonable cause, we reserve the right to charge any re-delivery or storage costs incurred.
Ceremony Sets & The Ceremony Guide
Each Ceremonies of Love Ceremony Set contains physical products and a copy of the Ceremonies of Love Ceremony Guide. The Ceremony Guide is a copyrighted written work authored by Charlotte Fowler and published by Ceremonies of Love Limited. It is supplied as an integral component of the set and is not sold separately.
Once a Ceremony Set has been opened, the right to cancel or return does not apply to the Ceremony Guide or any other contents of the set, including candles, seeds, and crystals. This is on the grounds that: (a) the set constitutes a bundle of goods which cannot reasonably be separated once opened; (b) certain contents, including candles and seeds, are hygiene-sensitive or perishable; and (c) the Ceremony Guide is a copyrighted work which, once accessed, cannot be meaningfully returned. These exemptions apply in accordance with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and do not affect your statutory rights in respect of faulty or misdescribed goods.
The Ceremony Guide is provided as a framework and companion for your ceremony. It is a ceremonial, not therapeutic, resource and does not constitute medical, psychological, or grief counselling advice. If you are experiencing significant distress, we encourage you to seek appropriate professional support.
We understand that those purchasing our ceremony sets may be navigating grief, loss, or significant personal transition. Our customer care approach always reflects that. If you have any concerns about your order, please contact us at hello@ceremoniesoflove.co.uk and we will do our best to help.
Celebrant Services & Bespoke Works &
Where you engage Ceremonies of Love for celebrant services, bespoke ceremony scripts, ritual residencies, immersive retreats, a Ceremony Almanac, The Testament, or any other individually commissioned written work or consultancy, a separate written agreement will be provided setting out the specific terms of that engagement. These Terms of Service apply in addition to any such agreement.
The Ceremony Almanac and The Testament are individually authored, bespoke written works created specifically for the commissioning client. Both are produced by Charlotte Fowler, constitute personalised items within the meaning of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and are non-returnable once work has commenced with your express consent.
Revisions. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the fee for any bespoke written work includes two rounds of revisions. A revision round is defined as one consolidated set of feedback submitted by you in a single communication, incorporating all amendments required at that stage. Additional revision rounds beyond the two included are available and will be charged at the rate communicated to you at the time of engagement. We are not obliged to make unlimited amendments; repeated, contradictory, or piecemeal revision requests beyond those included may be declined or charged accordingly.
Intellectual Property. All bespoke scripts, written content, and works produced by Ceremonies of Love remain the intellectual property of Ceremonies of Love and Charlotte Fowler unless otherwise agreed in writing. You are granted a personal, non-transferable licence to use such content for your own ceremony only. You may not reproduce, distribute, publish, sell, or share any written work produced by us without our prior written consent.
Cancellation. Once a bespoke service or written work has commenced, fees paid are non-refundable except at our discretion. If you cancel part way through, we reserve the right to retain fees proportionate to the work already completed.
Subjective Satisfaction. Bespoke written works are creative outputs produced in good faith based on the brief, information, and materials provided by you. Dissatisfaction with the creative direction, tone, or style of a completed work, where that work has been produced in accordance with your brief and revised within the included revision rounds, does not entitle you to a refund. We are committed to producing work of the highest quality and will always endeavour to reach a result you are proud of within the terms of this agreement.

Our total aggregate liability to you in connection with any order or transaction shall not exceed the total price paid by you for the relevant goods or services.
Nothing in these Terms shall limit or exclude our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other matter which it would be unlawful to exclude or restrict under UK law.
Indemnification

Governing Law
These Terms and any dispute or claim arising from or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Both parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without prejudice to your rights as a consumer to bring proceedings in the courts of the country in which you are resident.
